I am that book on the shelf you won't pick, because it doesn't look interesting enough. The cover isn't particularly attractive and it surely doesn't catch the eyes of many. It looks "ordinary". If only you knew, it's a lot more than that brown coloured cover which resembles the colour of my eyes.
It may have been covered in dust and cobwebs, it's still beautiful. If one day, you happen to clear off that dust you'll see "magic" written all over it. As you flip through the pages, you will have to be strong enough to read every new story that unravels.
Sometimes it will be too much for you to handle. Too much pain, too much suffering, too much sadness. Not many humans can handle "too much" you see. There will also be times when the words will make you smile a little more , laugh a little harder and live a little better because of how the world was described in those pages. It will make you believe in love and forgiveness, faith and humanity, and all those other things we tend to forget about. So many people just take a look and don't wish to dive deeper into the book. The cover pushes them away maybe.
Only if you knew, I am anything but magic , you would pick me. Out of all those books in pretty covers but shallow stories, you would pick me. I am that book waiting for you to choose me and read every word with great love and keep it with you till the end of time.
